Launched in January 2006, shutterchance was one of the earliest photoblogs based on the concept of one-image-a-day. Built on bespoke PHP code, it’s based on the low-cost LAMP structure (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and provides a full CMS system for photobloggers to upload and display their images, with each photoblogger having their own domain.

Key though to this platform is the community and tools the system provides for the users to interact with each other and receive comments externally. Images can be queued to be shown automatically on a given day and comments can be archived.
